Does the device need to charge before placing on the animal?

Yes.  When you received your GPS ear tag, please place it outside with a clear view of the sky.  The internal battery in your device was most likely drained during shipping.  

The length of time to fully re-charge your device depends on many factors.  In general, you should try to leave the tag outside for 3-5 days. 

Before installing the tag on the animal, make sure the device is reporting it's correct location in our app.
