Question
I just had someone call that I did an install with their device this morning - they have 5 hours left before it checks in again - does driving 750 feet in a straight line do the same thing as taking the batteries out for 60 seconds and putting them back in would? Would it wake up and check in at that point or does driving have nothing to do with check in time after an install?
What if they just move 750 ft and don't take the batteries out?
Answer
When you take the batteries out and leave them out for about a minute then reinstall the batteries it forces the device to check in to OEM. They do not have to move the 750 ft.
The device has to have the config on it already. If the device is queued up to pull the config then they would have to remove the batteries.
- When a device is installed and queued up to pull a config the batteries have to be removed.
